Pleased to offer a Very Early French Faience Plate; Scalloped Cobalt Edge; Yellow and Cobalt Floral Center. This is a lovely simple plate with a scalloped cobalt border with a running light floral design under that. There is a very simplistic flower in the center. This piece is difficult to date, but it’s very early. I counted 11 rim chips, some tiny, on it; some that have been “repaired” to the best of someone’s ability………….. Meaning it meant a lot to the family. There are no chips on the bottom rim, but there are four chips on the base. It measures 10 and does show cutlery wear causing some glaze loss. There is also an odd darker spot and inch from the central flower and a lighter one near the rim. I used to have a friend who could take out the dark spots and repair the chips but he took his secrets to the grave with him. Thanks for taking a look!
