Offered here is an Old or Antique Desvres French Faience Pottery Covered Sardine Box. It dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. The sardine box is in overall fair as-pictured estate condition with a chip to the underside of the cover, typical fritting, and glaze losses to the edges and tips. Some fine and light crazing with staining here and there, some fine & light surface glaze wear and other signs of light wear consistent with age. Marked to the base with “VJ” and anchor mark.
