Barluet Montereau Faience Hand Painted Bloody Renaissance Sword Fight Charger. Large French faience charger. Decorated with a hand painted scene of a four men in Renaissance fashion sword fighting in front of a Chateau or castle while a fifth man kneels in the snow tying off his bleeding leg. Marked on the reverse Montereau B&Cie. This mark was used by Barluet & Cie at Creil et Montereau between 1876 and 1884. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 16 1/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
