The signature dates to the period 1883 – 1895. Quimper is a town synonymous with the production Breton faience, the production of which dates back to 1708 when Pierre Bousquet opened the original Grand Maison in Place Styvel in the Locmaria district of Quimper. This highly decorative wall vase in the form of a heeled shoe, or chaussure, dates back to 1875, and signed with the HB monogram used between 1883 and 1895.
