This is a very nice early French Faience Plate! The piece is gorgeous and measures 9 7/8 at widest. There is a loss on one edge shown in picture 3 which shows the red clay, there is an area which did not get glazed shown in pic 10. There is crackle throughout the entire plate, you can see the wear on the underside from age and use, wear where the plate would sit on the table, the subject on front is 2 dogs with the coat of arms between them and crown above, the banner reads “Rouen” and please note the initials on back with underscore MC, on the front you can see the little dots in the glaze where the plate was held during firing process shown in pics 8 & 9. This piece shows wear consistent with age, its a very nice hand made hand decorated piece from France, and is early. See my Store: East End Antiques.
