A beautiful antique French faience 9.5 armorial plate commemorating the town of Angers. It is hand painted in shades of cobalt blue, deep orange, green and golden yellow common to Rouen pottery, which was known for its tin glazed pottery in the early to late 18th century. This plate has visible straw marks, and it is signed LB, or at least that’s what I believe the initials are. Condition: good antique with a bit of glaze irregularities and bits of the original clay showing through.
