Antique 18th Century French Rouen Faience Ceramic Serving Platter Circa 1730. This gorgeous and rare 18th century French Rouen Faience ceramic serving platter has been wonderfully repaired using 14 hand drilled and secured metal staples which was a tedious and laborious process. It is quite obvious this platter was a prized possession to the owner and the craftsman did a wonderful job of preserving the platter. The repairs were likely done in the late 18th to early 19th century. The blue decoration is beautifully painted with an outer band of stems and flowers at the rim surrounding a centered bouquet of foliage and flowers. It is 15.75 in. Wide, by 1.25 in.
