THEODORE DECK ANTIQUE FRENCH FAIENCE CERAMIC DISH Dated 1861 Angel. Deck became director of Sevres in 1887 & trained other celebrated ceramicists such as Lachenal & Decoeur. Deck exhibited at the 1862 International Exhibition in London. Beautiful Theodore Deck faience shallow dished bowl dating from 1861, possibly for the International Exhibition held in London the following year. Decorated with an angel carrying a sleeping cherub. Fabulous colours under a fine crackle glaze. Signed verso with hand painted TD monogram and date 1861. The front rim is signed by the decorator with the monogram VR?
