This plate was used in the end of the 19th century to present absinthe sugars on the counter of a bistro bar. The customer took a sugar and replaced it with a 20 cent coin. Original item, NOT A COPY. Very good condition consistent with antiquity – Antique plate dating 1890 – no crack, no chip, only little crazing at back. 7 3/4 in diameter. 3/8 thickness of antique faience.
