Antique/Vintage Quimper Stoneware Plate. Approximate size: 91/4 Diameter. This stoneware (grès) plate has a grayish cast to the glaze and there are tiny spots throughout that look like spaces where bubbles escaped during firing. On the front an early design, four dots in a diamond, is used. There is crazing on both sides as well as slip marks. The clay shows through in a couple of chipped places and it is a dark brown. On the back you can see two kiln rack marks at roughly 1:00 and 4:00. The HR signature has a sweeping flourish to the R and is signed HR only. The signature matches the 1874 -1904 signature attributed to Henroit. It must be boxed just like the item was packaged when sent to you. You must use the original packaging.
