Entirely hand-painted French faience plate in Gien’s Pivoines pattern. Big peonies bloom across the plate. Beautiful scrolling sapphire border design with ochre-rimmed edges. With two holes on back interior raised rim made during manufacture and fitting with wire or string for hanging. Marked “Gien France” with a company mark indicating manufacture from 1938 through 1971.
