The Carafes of St Jean de Fos are simply marvelous. Each was’made to order’ and there are know two pieces that are the same in design. During the 19thC when Cruches Abounded, the St Jean de Fos Carafe was used as an object placed on the table for meals thus, a rim that opened at the top to prevent spillage. Wine, Noix, Cider were also used in the carafe. Some called this piece a’Gargoulette St Jean de Fos’… And I don’t know why!
