This is a fabulous antique 1930’s HenRiot Quimper figurine of an owl standing on a rock with prey mouse? The raptor and mouse are glazed, the rock has a matte finish. Signed on the base – see photos. In EXCELLENT condition with very slight wear on the tips of the ears and one glaze flake above the left eye, which is barely noticeable because it fits in perfectly with the patterning of the feathers. The mold (#253) of this beautiful raptor can be seen in Mme. Sandra Bondhus’ book “Quimper Pottery a French Folk Art Faience” (revised edition) in appendix “Faiencerie D’Art Breton Henriot Quimper (1930’s)” on page 210.
