Recent Richmond, VA estate find. Offering an extremely scarce nearly 12 early Charger or Plate. Information provided by the estate mentioned that this piece was created by Porquier-Beau around 1875, but we have been informed that it’s actually a Malicorne piece by Pouplard-Beatrix; most likely late 1800’s. The piece is marked PBx on the reverse side (under glaze in blue), also has an embossed mark which looks like the number 5. Overall this piece is in excellent condition with only one small glaze flake on the rim and some very light color wear also on the rim. Other than these very insignificant inclusions, no chips, cracks, or stains. Does show some light crazing. As expected with pieces of this period, some insignificant glaze skips, and/or slight firing imperfections; primarily on the underside of this plate. Regardless, an amazing piece and displays incredibly well. The colors are solid with very little fade, the glaze has a very nice sheen and the inclusions and wear are quite minimal for the age of this piece.
