A handsome serving dish like this deserved a great standing pot roast, hearty stew, or chicken casserole. Probably made in the mid-18. Century and in France. Blue decoration on white, brown glazed back over redware pottery, handles molded into the side. Sturdy and measures around 13 ½ inches across, stands 2 ½ inches high. Crazed, old staple repairs on back, minor chip off one handle edge. Even so, makes a great show piece in a country cupboard.
