A lovely hand-painted French faience Croisille motif plate, made by HenRiot Quimper. It’s 8 wide and features a portrait of a Breton woman standing in a field with a basket on her head. She wears a dark blue skirt topped by a pink apron. The plate has three reserves decorated with pink and yellow flowers with green and orange accents. The reserves alternate with a blue and red quilted motif. The scalloped edges are trimmed yellow and blue. The plate is in good condition with no cracks or repairs and a vibrant color. It exhibits some production-related anomalies, including flecks of material caught in the glaze, pinpoint glaze pops, glaze skips on the back and stilt marks from the kiln, all commonly found in antique faience.
