Beautiful and highly-detailed French faience tureen, with handles, feet and nicely-sculpted fruit decorated cover. Produced by the French Faience Factory of Veuve Perrin in Marseille at the end of the 18th century. The factory produced faience wares between 1748 and 1803. After the death of Claude Perrin, the founder of the factory, his wife Pierette Candelot took over, and the factory started using the name of Veuve Perrin (Widow Perrin). Magnificent detailing and exquisite craftsmanship on the fine decoration with flowers in vivid colors on a crackled glaze. Top cover and handles with applied apple on a tree branch and leaf. The piece is marked underneath, “VP ” (mark for Veuve Perrin, Marseille). Dimensions with handles 35 cm / 25 cm.
