Offered is a wonderful Antique French faience plate from Hautin & Boulanger with rare Makers mark. This Maker’s Mark honored founder Louis Boulenger’s son and eventual. Successor (1863) Hippolyte Boulenger. Their main location ” Etablissements Boulanger” on Gambetta Ave was the Paris location. Prior to the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, many great French artisans lived in Sarreguemines. Once Alsace and Lorraine were claimed by the Germans, many French Faience artists moved to Paris and Choisy-le-Roi. Their fine rare items are still sought out by experienced collectors worldwide. This piece measures 9 in diameter and in excellent condition with really beautiful age related glaze crazing and manufacturing characteristics on the surface.
