Offered is this beautiful antique French Revolutionary faience plate. Made in the late 1700’s to early 1800’s, it is unmarked and most likely made in Nevers, France who was known for their Revolutionary faience. It features a rooster on top of a canon which represents vigilance where the rooster is protecting the nation. It is completely hand painted in a Naive Art manner. The rim is turned up slightly more than a dinner plate. It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. It measures 10 inches in diameter and stands about 1.5 inches tall.
