Fun to collect but hard to find: 19th century faience master salts in the form of figures. This one is 9 1/4 inches tall. The feet are worn and from the expression on her face, I’d say she doesn’t like her job too much. The elongated fingers and the colors of the lady are typical of this type of early French faience. I especially like the way the nose is worn. I can imagine she was picked up by the head and passed around at the table for many decades. Just think about all that wonderful French cuisine!
