Offered is this beautiful antique French Faience hand painted plate from the early 1800’s. It features three reticulated or lace cut sections of the rim where you can thread a satin ribbon through to hang it on your wall. In between the lace cut sections are three cartouche with butterflies and insects. The center features a Chinese monk looking over his shoulder holding a long pipe in the middle of a field with flowers and vegetation all around. It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. It has stilt marks on the front and back from being fired in the kiln, normal with antique faience and majolica.
