Wonderful example here of 19th century French faience pottery. This is a figural tavern jug or pitcher, the figure is a man in what appears to be 17th century garb holding a pipe in one hand and a drink in the other. He is completely hand painted measuring 11.25″ tall, 6″ wide and 8 deep. The handle is in the shape of a tree branch with his ponytail flowing down the branch. He is marked with the number 1759 along with the word France and a maker’s mark above the number. He is in near mint condition with NO chips, cracks, repairs, or damage. Amazing find, don’t let him get away. We always try to describe all items fully and point out any flaws we can find.
