13″ high x 10″ wide x 6 deep. This beautiful antique French faience vase was made in Desvres by the Fourmaintraux Freres Factory ca. It features wonderful family and hearth scenes in the cartouches, all handpainted in the Rouen Decor style. On the sides are fanciful heads of satyrs, arabesques, flowers and other creatures. The Fourmaintraux Freres hallmark appears on the base. The first earthenware factory in Desvres was founded in 1764. Starting in 1804, François Fourmaintraux was influential by producing beautiful pottery with popular designs from Delft, Moustiers, Nevers, Strasbourg and Rouen.
