Beautiful and colorful vintage Quimper set of four large dinner plates in the Decor Henriot Petite Breton. Two the plates are adorned a with a Breton woman in traditional dress carrying a small bouquet of flowers in the French countryside and the other two are of a Breton man carrying his riding crop. The detailed design adds a touch of elegance to these plates with their hand painted yellow, blue and black stripes and floral sprays. A beautiful example of French country faience. This decor is a favorite to many. The plates measure approximately 11″ in diameter and 1 1/4″ H. These pieces are in excellent vintage condition. There are a few glaze slips, uneven glazing mostly on the underside, small glaze pops, and some stray paint flecks that typically occur during production. On one of the woman’s plate there may be a pinhead chip on the rim or it can be a glaze pop. I looked at it under a magnifier and it truly looked like a double glaze pop. As these items are handmade and hand painted, no two will be exactly alike. Please see all photos as they accurately reflect the condition of the pieces.
