Recent Northern Virginia estate find. These pieces are in overall outstanding condition and include some very obscure and rare pieces from a very established collector. Offering a beautiful set of six, French HB Quimper 10 1/4 round fish-shaped, dinner plates #865 from the mid 1900’s. Xcellent overall condition with no chips or cracks; extremely light to no evidence of use. Consistent with pottery of this style, you may find a couple very small and insignificant glaze skips or a slight manufacturing inclusion, but on these pieces, very exceptional. Also, consistent to this style of pottery, underside may show firing rest marks and heavier glaze drips, but quite insignificant to the display value. A couple plates do show some faint, fine transparent crazing, but also very exceptional. Hard to find a set of six in this condition. Four plates are decorated with the Breton woman and two with the Breton man. A nice cream base with vibrant decorative colors and a glaze with a very nice sheen. Please see photographs for overall condition, design, and dimensions. Photos do contain measurements and price listed is for all six plates.
