A RARE LATE 18TH CENTURY VEUVE PERRIN MARSEILLE HAND PAINTED JEWELLERY TRINKET MINIATURE CHEST OF DRAWERS. This is a charming highly decorated faience jewellery trinket box in the form of a chest of drawers. The elaborately shaped top is decorated with a scene of a lady accompanied by two fashionable young men being transported by sedan chair through an idyllic rural scene. Four drawers, two full width and two half width are set into the frame, and are decorated with flowers and set in ceramic knobs. The front frame has flower sprigs and the sides sprays of flowers. The drawers and base are very prettily shaped. The mark VP is on the base. Interestingly there is an old typed summary in the drawers detailing further information from previous research. There are a few small glaze scuffs to the edges and a crack to the top right of the bottom drawer which are shown on the photographs but overall certainly considering its age the condition is very good.
