This set of six antique fish plates are the perfect gift for anglers. They are very collectible and an ideal gift for fish chefs. Lunéville Faience is one of the most famous French pottery manufacturers. It has been located in Lunéville, Lorraine, France since 1730 and is very collectible. This Lunéville K & G (Keller et Guerin) mark dates from 1923 onwards. They all have a tactile, fluted, edge and’ribbed’ border. The plates measure 24.5cms / 9½ diameter and each weigh 400 gms / 14 ozs. There are six different designs illustrating various fish swimming amongst reeds and seashells. The colors and details of the illustrations are incredibly accurate and realistic. They are all in excellent condition. There is some very, very slight’wear’ to the gilt trims. One of the plates has a glazing flaw (see photo) which has been present since manufacture. There are two microscopic’nicks’ to the undersides see photos. These do not in any way detract from their beauty or functionality. They are truly gorgeous antique plates with many years of service yet to offer.
