Antique French Faience Art Pottery, c. This is a rare and unusual antique French Faience Compote Jardiniere with figural handles. The subject matter includes a large art fully made oval bowl with scalloped edge, four figural lions feet, and Caryatid Handles. The Compote Jardiniere has. Modeling, decorating, and glaze that are well done with typical colors of Montagnon pottery: creamy white background decorated with varying shades of blue, yellow, green, and magenta. The décor includes bouquets of flowers and symbols. The inside is glazed in white; the underside bottom is glazed in white; the underside rim foot is unglazed. The underside bottom has a makers marks: a large ribbon bow in green glaze, 70, and GM, the mark of Gabriel Montagnon, circa 1899 to 1937. Th is is an early mark of Montagnon, old and original French Art Pottery, made at the Montagnon Factory in the early 20 th Century. Dimensions (in inches): 5.7 Tall X 14.2 Wide X 7.8 Deep.
