Gorgeous Pair of French Faience Swan Oversize Chargers. They have a marking on the reverse Montereau L & Co. Montereau is a town in the region of Seine-et-Marne and Creil, in the Oise. They look wonderful hanging but I think you could take the wires off if you’d like. I left them on as they look old and are very well secure. Approximate measurements of each plate are 13 across. The colors are beautiful and more vibrant than my photos show. The background is different shades of blue. There is green and the white and a bit of brown and purple on the root area of the leaves. There are also highlights of gold throughout the plate mostly on the leaves and around the entire edge of each plate. The only defects I can see is there is wear to the gold around the outer edges of the plates and on one of the plates in the lower left corner it looks like someone touched up some of the blue paint. (see photo 9 above) There are a few spots on the reverse of the plates where the white is rubbed off it looks like where the wires rubbed against the plate.
