The center shows an armory crest or blason of Vannes, Brittany, a city southeast of Quimper on the Atlantic coast. The blason bears the motto or devise, A Ma Vie which translates to To My Life. Made as a wall plate for regional decoration or as a table centerpiece. Faience has been made at Desvres in France since 1732. This plate was all handmade and hand glazed. It is in excellent condition probably because it was hanging on someones wall for years.
