Antique 19th century pair of French St. Clement majolica faience pottery plates with lions facing each other or they could be displayed to face away from each other. Heraldic decor has beautiful clear hand painted features. The colors are dark navy blue, yellows, greens and plum. One is in excellent condition the other has a tight hairline crack. I didnt want to split them since it is so rare to find a set like this one. The backside is marked in blue glaze St C St. Clement K & G 4. The plates measure 10 inches in diameter each. One plate is in very good antique condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. The other plate has a hairline crack that goes through to the front but it is very stable. Other than the tight crack which is approximately 3 inches long the plate is in very good antique condition. This crack can been seen in picture number five about 3 oclock area. Note on condition, to the best of my ability flaws will be described in as much detail as possible but please be aware that if the item is vintage or antique it has age wear and in most cases is not in “mint” condition. They have been worn and loved. Please view the pictures, as they are part of the description.
