This fantastic antique hand-painted French faience box with lid and scalloped rim is a rare find and a wonderful collectible! It has the very rare shape of a chest of drawers (or table) and it features a sophisticated “Old Rouen” pattern with “lambrequins” in bold colors, and the royal crest of “Meules les Roses” if I read it right? It was made and signed by the famous faiencerie of Jules Verlingue of Boulogne, in the north of France, which means it was made between 1903 and 1920.
