Antique Victorian French Gien Faience Black Renaissance Pottery Bronzed Pot Lamp. Today we are pleased to offer for sale a beautiful antique French Faience table lamp! This handsome piece was once an ornate oil lamp, later converted to electricity by the Crest Company of Chicago (as marked on hardware). The lamp features a wonderful antique Gien Faience pottery rotund pot with lustrous glaze and hand-painted, colorful Renaissance arabesques against a dramatic black ground. The front of the pot features an elaborate shield topped with a ducal coronet and adorned with a putto. The faience pot is mounted to an ornate bronzed-finish metal footed base with foliate detail and matching cap and hardware. The lamp features double cluster light sockets and includes a black bell shade. Lamp presents well and is in good antique, working, condition, with minor display wear and patina commensurate with age. There is tarnishing and minor oxidation/loss to plated finish on hardware. The pottery has minor scuffing, a flew fleabites to glaze, and a repaired chip along bottom edge. Lampshade has minor wear. Please review all photos before purchasing.
