Sevres French Faience Inkwell. With Neoclassical Gilt Bronze Mounts. 8 1/2″ across x 12 1/4″ across at the handles. 7 3/4 tall with lid on. The inkwell’s exterior is decorated with a sophisticated stippled glaze of poudré blue accented with contrasting mounts of gilt bronze at the base, rim and lid. Very good condition; clean inside with original glass insert and a little wear to gilding on the lid, marked underfoot with the early Atelier Milet printed mark consisting of a blue MP / SEVRES within a dotted circle, used prior to 1930.
