A large charger or platter made by Saint Clément in the 19th century. Much larger than the usual plates one finds this giant piece is hand painted with some superb quality flowers in the center and has a fancy reticulated rim highlighted with yellow, blue, green and puce. All in all a superb piece and not your everyday garden variety piece by any means! The piece is made of faience and rings nicely when tapped. The platter is in superb condition with no flaws except maybe a minor. Glaze flaw that I overlooked but nothing to take away from this piece! It is marked underneath with the St C intertwined mark as well as the number 23. The plate is 1.625 inches tall and about 15 inches in diameter! France French fayence Platte serving dish.
