Offered is this beautiful antique French faience Revolutionary plate. Made in the 1800’s, this plate says La Loi et La Paix which means The Law and The Peace. According to my research book, this stands for the the fury the French people had against King Louis XVI when he vetoed 2 decrees that were voted for by the Legislative Assembly. The French people felt that “one man should not influence the will of 25 million people”. It is in excellent antique condition as seen in photos.
