THIA TIAN WAS MADE FROM THE 1890S UNTIL THE VERY START OF THE 1920S. GREENS WERE NOT PRODUCED AFTER THE 20S AND THE FORM ITSLEF, WAS NOT MADE AS A UTENSIL. THIS STUNNING GREEN TIAN WAS MADE IN CASTELNAUDARY, PREPARATION BOWLS. THIS EXACT TIAN, IN MY OPINION, WAS BOUGHT FOR TWO REASONS. PROBABLY TO SHOW OFF A FEW TIMES A YEARS AS IT WAS DEFINITELY MADE WITH A STYLE FOR BEING SHOWN WHEN ENTERING THE HOME. THE TECHNIQUE OF MAKING THE GLAZE WITH THE UNDERCOAT OF CHEAR ENGOBE PRODUCED A STUNNING, VERY THICK AND PROTECTIVE GLAZE. THERE IS VERY LITTLE WEAR AND TEAR, EXCEPT AROUND RIM. I DON’T THINK THIS SAT IN THE KITCHEN AND WAS HIT WITH UTENSILS VERY OFTEN. VERY RARE TO FIND ONE IN THIS CONDITION, EVEN FOR LATE 19THC-EARLY 1900S. DIMENSION: 19.5 X 8. I HAVE IT PACKED ONLY AT U.
