A rare and marvelous 18th century French faience tin enamel de l’est plates. It great hand painted decoration that includes insects and a Chinese soldier who is feeding a dragon, and it is 9.5 in diameter. French tin enamel plates from the 18th century are not easy to find, and this one is truly remarkable. There is an old price sticker on the back of it from Richard Norton, Inc. Which is still in the Chicago Merchandise Mart and which was founded in 1933. Condition: for a circa 1700’s tin enamel plate, this is in good condition with pitting and age cracks. There is also a small flake on the edge (see picture). Thanks for looking and be sure to check out the other of the pair that I have listed.
