Antique Pottery Chinoiserie Les Islettes. This listing is for an original antique French pottery plate. 1800 probably at Les Islettes in the east of France. It measures 8-1/2 across (21.5 cm) and is decorated by hand with a scene of a pipe smoking chinaman. This plate is in lovely condition with just the usual wear from age that you would expect but no chips, no cracks and no repairs or restoration. Stilt marks on the back are from manufacturing. Please excuse any glares (white patches) that you may see in the pictures, these are caused by reflections of light on the glaze and are not on the actual object itself.
